Removal of an existing epoxy coating, slab remediation, polished concrete across warehouse and coolroom areas, and coved vinyl with static dissipative flooring in PC2 rooms, for builder BIO Construct Services.
A facility with PC2 controlled rooms, warehouse areas and coolrooms.
The slab carried an existing epoxy coating and was contaminated, so it could not take a new finish as it was.
JA Floors removed the existing epoxy coating and carried out extensive substrate remediation.
The warehouse and coolroom areas were converted to polished concrete. The PC2 rooms received coved vinyl and static dissipative flooring. About 1,000 linear metres of wall protection was installed.
In the warehouse and coolrooms, polishing the remediated slab gave a hard-wearing floor with no coating left to wear through or lift. The PC2 rooms needed a continuous, cleanable surface, so they received coved vinyl, with static dissipative flooring where the rooms called for it.
One package covered the removal, the slab remediation, three different finished floors and about 1,000 linear metres of wall protection, across warehouse, coolroom and PC2 areas.
“We've had JA Floors on Paragon Care and PolyNovo, and neither was a simple floor. There was slab remediation, polished concrete, static dissipative and coved vinyl in the controlled rooms, and they handled all of it as one package and got the detail right. That's why we keep using them.”
